Senior Structural Specialist

Join us in this role where you’ll be working with optimising O&M for primary and secondary structures for offshore wind turbines. You’ll evaluate and drive  O&M concepts for  offshore wind turbine foundations and provide input to the structural design team on learnings from the field  while collaborating closely with O&M colleagues in our regions responsible for the daily O&M of our assets as well as experts in the Backoffice responsible for the design of primary and secondary structures, structural loads, material selection, and corrosion protection systems amongst others.

The larger teams support our regions with integrity issues and analysis, major incidents, product improvements and innovation across the lifetime of the asset. You’ll be part of our Generation Engineering team where you, together with your colleagues, will work with industry leaders within metocean assessment, load and structural calculations, and essentially all aspects of O&M related to primary and secondary structures. You’ll work in a large organisation with a wide range of stakeholders, allowing you to gain a holistic understanding of the business. As a team, we work together towards reaching a shared ambition. We work in a global organization, consisting of both physical and virtual work environments. We have a diverse culture and share knowledge independent on seniority, location, and area of expertise.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • evaluating inspection data and analysis methodologies to optimise O&M of primary and secondary structures
  • Spearheading major incident investigations
  • developing the maintenance plans for primary and secondary structures
  • taking part in specifying and developing internal tools
  • interacting with the rest of the members of the team, as well as other parts of the Generation organisation to implement and improve O&M without compromising safety
  • monitoring the industry to identify opportunities for enhancing our Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and representing Ørsted in potential Joint Industry Projects.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • are curious and eager to learn from our wide range of technical and commercial experts and bring a collaborative and inclusive mindset
  • are good at building relations with stakeholders and enjoy navigating and cooperating in a complex matrix organisation with many stakeholders
  • have profound knowledge and working experience on relevant standards and tools for structural design, ideally also in marine environment
  • have in-depth knowledge of corrosion and corrosion protection at a theoretical as well as a practical level
  • experience with large scale data analysis
  • are comfortable in a dynamic organisation, engaging with stakeholders and colleagues to improve our approach to O&M
  • have a holistic view and approach to your work
