Strategy and business development

Business analyst

Imagine a future where you provide expert guidance on European energy trends to one of the leading green energy companies in the world

Join us in this role where you’ll analyse and synthesise a wide range of market data and discuss your conclusions with other energy experts to support our company view on future power market trends in Europe. You’ll use an advanced mathematical model to quantify the impact of these trends on future power prices and assess risk and value drivers for our portfolio.

Welcome to Risk Management
You’ll be part of Markets & Investment Support where you, together with your colleagues, will be responsible for our long-term price forecasts of a range of commodities. Our forecasts are used in all business cases across our organisation, and the team has frequent exposure towards senior management. The team consists of 13 economists and engineers and uses a number of large-scale power market models in its forecasts. As a team, we continuously strive to do better and develop our skill set. We have an informal and very open culture and you’ll always be able to get help and learn from your colleagues.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • analysing and forecasting key trends in the European energy systems
  • updating our long-term European power price forecasts including reviewing the input data for the models
  • preparing PowerPoint presentations of analysis and results towards senior management
  • cooperating with internal stakeholders in discussing and analysing key issues
  • engaging with external forecast providers for data collection and insights.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have a master's degree in either engineering or economics
  • have experience or insights in modelling of energy and/or power systems or are willing to learn
  • are analytically strong and have a flair for working with complicated analytical challenges
  • are solution- and service-oriented and find motivation working in a data-driven environment
  • speak and write English fluently.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
